Very nice.

I actually made a game like Metroid (but with no assets from, nor any references to Nintendo's franchise).

Unboxing and first impressions:

PS. I tried to add you on Discoord, but the application says that you cannot be found? It says that uppercase, and lowercase characters on the username must be matching. Did you give the correct case on the characters in your username?

I am an experienced programmer and have made games both for 8-bit consoles & and the Jaguar 64-bit console. Asteroite has received quite a lot of attention in the Jaguar community. I have also made a roguelike RPG for the Jaguar:

I started making retro inspired PC games long ago, but it's hard to stand out in such a crowded market. E.g. there are so many other games being released for it. For the Jaguar, my previous games has sold enough for publishers to be interested in publishing my games.

I really like your art style and I am quite sure it will be highly appreciated by the people who buy my games. Definately I am interesting in working with you, I have several ideas. I am also interested in hearing about your ideas. The Jaguar has more power to produce even better looking games than these, provided there is an artist to support it. I also started looking into making 3D games for the Jaguar. Is there a way I can contact you privately? You can send me a PM on the AtariAge forum, my username is phoboz.

Press release trailer for Asteroite:

Video review by John Hancock for a game using this package:

Do these monsters have any animation frames, or is it just a single picture per monster? With animation frames I mean any of the following actions: attack, getting hit, idle, perish etc.

Very soon this game will be released:

This is what the final game looks like:

It would be very nice to see a Jaguar release for this game in particular, as the system doesn't have many games like this.

Yes I understand what you mean, to have a common look for all the art. I am working with one and the same artist on the enemies, but for the tiles I have not been able to find one artist who do it all.

I am working together with one more artist who create the main character, and all the enemies. The tiles and objects is a mix of assets I understand are free to use, and some custom work from another artist. However, this is a hobby project, so I guess I cannot find one artist who are willing to do it all as a hobby.

A lot of more work on the game called Asteroite for the Atari Jaguar, using these tiles + other:

Started to prototype a Metroidvania for the Atari Jaguar using these tiles:

Interesting, it looks like an action RPG, right?
To which platform is the game being released?

So the game I am working on (using this monster pack) is for the Atari Jaguar, and it's called "Kings of Edom"

I am interested in more monsters of the same size, and with the same moves, as I need more different monster types for my game. Currently I have done 2 variations of the existing ones (using a different color map), e.g. Pale Orc, and Toxic Slime.

Great, I hope that you will. I got the feedback from the community (Atari Age forum) that people are really looking forward to this game, as there were not many RPGs for the Atari Jaguar (only one in first person perspective)

I am now using all the monsters, with all the animation frames in the game. There are enough for levels, because 4 monsters are available from start, and 2 new types appear per level. Perhaps I will reuse the existing ones, but with other colors for the stronger ones.

Actually I am quite fine with the 16x16 size characters now, as I changed the tiles to fit the new size. Still I am wondering if you would be interested to do more monster of the same size? Here is a video of the game (on Atari Jaguar) so far:

Hello Pita,

I am working on a rouge-like RPG for the Atari Jaguar. I am considering this monster pack, but my current hero is 16x24 pixels. So maybe I need to change the hero because of that. Therefore I wonder if the hero is included in this pack, or do I need to get the tileset pack for that? Currently my game has other tiles, so I don't need them. Also I am wondering if you would be interested to make some more monsters, preferable a little bit taller (e.g. 16x24 pixels)?
